Head of LSB, Running Coach. Full-time running coach for 19 years, working with a wide range of runners from absolute beginners to elite, over distances from short races to ultra running.
BSc in Psychology, specialising in sports psychology. Qualified and worked as a personal trainer in London before founding Carter Coaching and LondonRunningCoach to focus on her area of expertise — particularly trail and long distance. Licensed with UK Athletics, qualified Level 3 personal trainer, and a qualified first aider.
A competitive runner since the age of 11 at regional track level, Gemma ran her first marathon at 19 before progressing into ultras and trail/mountain running — going on to represent her country at the 100km distance and compete internationally. Discovering the trails of Brač while running there led directly to building LSB.




Kim has twice represented Great Britain and Northern Ireland at World Trail Championships, winning a team Bronze in 2019. Prior to this he was part of a GB team at three Adventure Racing World Championships, achieving 6th place in Ecuador in 2014.
In 2014, victory at the Lakeland 50 made him British Trail Running Champion. He holds ultra records including Hardmoors 55, Lakeland Trails 100km, Lakes in a Day (50 miles), and Arc of Attrition (100 miles). Overseas, a top 10 finish at the Skyrunning World Championship, winner of the Falcotrail Ultra in Spain, and a finisher at CCC, TDS and UTMB.
On the fells, Kim is a British Championship race winner and twice winner of the Elite Dark Mountains Mountain Marathon, with wins across both Elite and Long Score classes at the OMM. He has completed Winter and Summer Bob Graham Rounds — including breaking the winter record in 2019 at 15hrs 47mins. In July 2020, he broke the Lakeland 24-hour fell record with 78 tops in 23hrs 48mins.
A former Outward Bound instructor in the Lake District, Kim is now a successful running coach, passionately working with clients to help them achieve their individual running goals. He leads the flagship trail and hill sessions on the Runner's MOT — and also joins LSB's Croatia camps, bringing the same coaching standard to the trails above Brač.



A talented swimmer, runner and triathlete in his own right, John is founder of Mad Hatter Sports Events, running fun and friendly swim, run and swimrun events in the Cornwall area. A swim coach and swim leader, he has vast experience in open water and a passion for sharing his love of the water with others.




Sports Science graduate and National Triathlon Coach (Spain), and Head Coach at Triatlon Klub Split. Over 10 years in endurance coaching, with a focus on individualised programming, TrainingPeaks coaching, and strength & injury prevention.
Speaks Spanish, English and Catalan. Heads the new LSB Triathlon Camp on Brač Island.


Founder of Assent Performance (est. 2021) — evidence-based 1:1 endurance coaching spanning training psychology, running physiology, advanced nutrition and supplementation, strength, sleep and stress management. Works with runners from complete beginners to national level, from 5K to multi-day ultras. On camp, Steven specialises in lactate testing, HRV analysis and race-day physiology — and co-heads the Assent Performance Camp with Gemma.
MB BS, MSc Sport & Exercise Medicine, FFSEM. Works with the UK Sport Institute, Lancashire Cricket and seasonally with The Hundred and tennis. Particular interests in female athlete health and RED-S. Competed for GB in marathon and mountain running herself.
