Join us on our  Run Camp with Kim Collison-running coach, GB international and multiple record holder.

 

A camp combining coached training days on stunning trails local to our villas with two incredible excursion days exploring the best trails and mountains Croatia has to offer. A full on running adventure!

 

With gorgeous well established tracks and trails all over the island, this location is perfect to explore as a runner. Warm temperatures and blue skies make it an ideal warm weather training camp base, with serene coastal views to die for as a backdrop. The camp, held in spring, is perfect for building and developing new skills pre season and preparing for a summer season of racing; all under the guidance of experts. 

 

Train hard, have a blast with like minded individuals and stay in complete luxury away from the worries of modern life.

KIM COLLISON

​

 

Kim has twice represented Great Britain and Northern Ireland at World Trail Championships; winning a team Bronze in 2015. Prior to this he was part of a Great British team at three Adventure racing world championships; achieving 6th place in Ecuador 2014.

 

In 2014, with victory at the Lakeland 50, Kim was British Trail Running Champion and went on to achieve a number ultra records on the trails including Hardmoors 55 (55 miles), Lakeland Trails 110km (65 miles), Lakes in a Day (50 miles) and Arc of Attrition (100 miles).

 

Overseas trail running experience includes a top 10 finish in the Skyrunning World Championship, winning the Falcotrail Ultra in Spain and finisher at the Courmayeur Champex Chamonix (CCC), Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie (TDS) and Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB).

 

On the fells Kim is a keen Fell Runner and Mountain Marathon competitor with significant success including wining a British Championship race, a close second in an English Championship race, wins in both the Elite and Long Score classes at the Original Mountain Marathon (OMM) and twice winning the Elite Dark Mountains Mountain Marathon. He has completed Winter and Summer Bob Graham Rounds including the great achievement of breaking the winter record in 2019 with a time 15hrs 47mins.

 

Incredibly in July 2020, Kim managed to break the Lakeland 24 hour fell record with 78 tops in 23 hours 45 minutes.

 

Not only a pedigreed athlete himself, Kim has previously been an instructor with Outward Bound in the Lake District, teaching and guiding groups over the Lakeland fells.

 

He is also a very successful running coach, passionately working with a range of clients to help them achieve their individual running goals.

From beginners looking to build confidence on trail, to experienced trail runners seeking a key peak training week in the sun. This running camp suits a wide range of runners regardless of ability or goal race distance. We ensure the experience is tailored to the individual to maximise their time with us. We cater for all and lead runs of varying distance and difficulty to make sure everyone has a great time.

 

Runners can develop trail specific skills, gain confidence, understand how to optimise their performance AND have an adventure to remember in Croatia’s trails and mountains.

 

You will have the opportunity to learn more about sports science, psychology, strength and conditioning, nutrition and specific kit advice from our experienced coaches as well as plenty of free time to relax around the villas enjoying the beautiful surroundings

Morning-trail run including hill work & downhill skills visiting the scenic coastal town of Bobovisca finishing in Milna, for optional coffee and cake! Distance - c.14miles.

Afternoon- optional easy run on the local woodland trails. Distance options 4-8miles.

Tuesday

​

Coastal adventure day:

Coastal adventure day to Bol with a chance to practice technical trail skills and ice creams at the finish!

Information-A long run adventure with a mix of amazing views of Hvar and the Adriatic as we run along the coast, visiting historical and cultural sights of interest, hiking switch backs paths and soft forest trails. We hike up to the top of Vidova Gora, the highest point of all the Adriatic coast. A pitstop for ice cream and drinks whilst taking in the amazing views of the Adriatic before descending the mountain on glorious trails, finishing at the coastal town of Bol with its famous Zlatni Rat beach before being transported home ...who wants ice cream?! Distance c.20miles

Wednesday

​

Guests are welcome to take this as an easy day (or full rest day), try different activities from our range of sport equipment on site or hop in on run sessions as they choose.

Morning-easy run to recover from yesterday. Distance - c.4-12miles

Free time

​

Afternoon-steady run along a local trail route taking us to some secret secluded beaches or time on the water using out kayaks, SUPs and swimming! Distance c.6miles

Talk by Coach Gemma on physiology, biomechanics and strength work-the importance of understanding and looking after the body to perform

Thursday
 

Morning-speed work session-different options to suit all levels. Distance c.10miles, speed session level options.

Afternoon-optional easy run on local trails followed by strength and conditioning session. Distance c.4-6miles

Friday

​

Coast to coast island traverse:

Starting the day by touching the sea on the south coast at the town of Milna, we take you along the Via Brattia Trail  passing seaside towns Bobivisca and Lozisca and running on the beautiful soft tracks to the other side of the island and finishing in Sutivan. After a celebratory lunch and drinks, guests can explore the old town cobbled streets, visit shops and take in the views before being transported back home to the villas to relax. Distance c.14miles

WHAT ISN'T INCLUDED?

  • Flights to and from Split airport.

  • Transfers to the villas. For a supplemental fee we can include these in your trip and organise this before your stay (see travel page).

  • There is the option of hiring a private speed boat direct from Split airport upon request and for additional charge. This can be shared with other guests arriving at the same time, sharing the cost.

  • The maximum group size is 16.

  • There is a wide range of run surfaces to choose from and varying technicality and level. From road to rocky and techy coastal trails.

  • For travel information and advice see our travel page (our concierge can help with any advice).

  • Health and travel insurance valid at time of trip is a requirement.

  • For more pictures see our gallery.

  • We ideally ask guests to arrive during the morning through to middle of the day to allow enough time in the afternoon for the welcome tour and to settle in. Departures such be by 11am.
